Tu Yaa Main Movie Review Synopsis:
TU YAA MAIN is the story of two lovers and a crocodile. With 2.3 million followers, Shanaya Kapoor’s character Avani Shah is an influencer. Her handle is called Miss Vanity. Meanwhile, Maruti Kadam’s (Adarsh Gourav) handle is called Ala Flowpara, and he has nearly 20,000 followers. Even though they come from different parts of society, when they meet, sparks fly. Maruti pursues her for a collab. Avani is discouraged from doing so by her manager, Lyra (Parul Gulati), her brother-in-law, Vikram (Rajat Kaul), and Avani’s sister, Tara (Amrutha Srinivasan). However, Avani accepts the collaboration. They fall in love with each other quickly, but they soon face a reality check as well. While Avani lives in a sprawling 10,000 square feet residence, Maruti hails from an impoverished neighborhood in Nala Sopara, near Mumbai. However, they decide to give their relationship a shot and ride bikes to Goa. The bike breaks down on the way, and the lovers take cover in a scuba diving center in Maharashtra’s Konkan region. They find themselves stranded in the abandoned, remote swimming pool. If that’s not enough, they are attacked by a crocodile. What happens next forms the rest of the film.
Tu Yaa Main Movie Story Review:
The 2008 Thai film THE POOL, which was written by Ping Lumpraploeng, served as the inspiration for TU YAA MAIN. Himanshu Sharma’s story is an exciting one. Abhishek Arun Bandekar’s screenplay is captivating. But the romantic scenes in the first half could have been sharper. Abhishek Arun Bandekar’s dialogue could have been funnier in the first half. But generally speaking, young people find the jokes amusing and relatable.
The direction of Bejoy Nambiar is stylish. He has been an expert in technical matters ever since his debut film, SHAITAAN, in 2011. In TU YAA MAIN, he takes this skill to a whole new level. His execution makes the writing, which is geared toward young people, significantly more appealing. The love story has its charm, and some of the best parts include Maruti following Avani’s car, Avani talking about her parents, and Avani feeling at home in Maruti’s neighborhood, Nala Sopara, among other things. It is often said that our films lag behind when it comes to horror and jump scares. However, one exception is TU YAA MAIN. Screams and gasps will be heard during a few scenes, which will only enhance the movie’s impact in theaters. The film concludes on a high note with a thrilling climax.
On the other hand, the running time of 145 minutes is a little long for a film of this type. It’s logical that the creators wanted the viewers to become immersed in Avani and Maruti’s lives so that when they are stuck in the pool, they can root for them and feel their anguish. However, the love story should have been shown more rapidly. This is because spectators have gathered in the theater to witness both the protagonists and the crocodile. Despite instilling anxiety in the opening scene, it does not appear much in the first half. As a result, viewers may feel uneasy because the creature doesn’t fully release its terror until

Performances:
Adarsh Gourav makes the most of his biggest theatrical release to date with this one. He adopts the persona of his character and appears to be a Mumbai-based influencer. Furthermore, he excels in emotional scenes. Shanaya Kapoor delivers an admirable performance, demonstrating her acting talent. Despite the difficulty of the performance, she pulls it off flawlessly. Parul Gulati provides valuable support. Rajat Kaul and Amrutha Srinivasan meet the requirements of their respective characters. Kshitee Jog (Maruti’s mother) and Rajsi Anant Kinjalaskar (Sonali, Maruti’s sister) are dependable, while Ansh Vikas Chopra (Fabric) is extremely entertaining. Both Parvathy Thiruvothu (mute guest) and Rajendra Gupta (Driver) make memorable cameos. Shrikant Yadav (Tavde, cop) has an excellent cast. Sagar Muralidhar Bhandgar plays Vasanta.
Music And Other Technical Aspects:
The songs are in sync with the film’s theme, but only a few of them are memorable, like ‘Fame Us,’ ‘Jee Liya,’ and ‘Chandni.’ The reimagined version of “Aankhein Chaar” is the best of the bunch. The visualization, transition, and remix are all very impressive. “Tum Hi Hamari Ho Manzil My Love” is another retro song that is well incorporated into the movie. The scare factor is increased by Prateek Rajagopal’s background score, which is significantly higher.
Remy Dalai’s cinematography is very impressive. Special recognition should also be given to the teams that worked on the crocodile and the VFX departments at Phantom FX. Vikram Dahiya’s action is somewhat graphic and realistic. The costumes worn by Gopika Gulwadi are stylish and realistic. The production design by Pooja Palan is appealing. The editing by Priyank Prem Kumar could have been more precise.
Conclusion:
TU YAA MAIN is an all-around decent survival thriller with powerful jump scares, sincere performances from Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor, and skillful handling by Bejoy Nambiar. However, the lengthy runtime and the comparatively slow buildup, especially before the crocodile action, lessen the overall impact. A lot of the movie’s box office success will depend on word-of-mouth, especially from young people.
