Posted on April 21, 2026April 21, 2026 By Masthi Menia No Comments on Review: Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit—Gripping action drama
Movie Name: Dacoit

Release Date: April 10, 2026
Starring: Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur, Anurag Kashyap, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan, Kamakshi Bhaskarla
Director: Shaneil Deo
Producer: Supriya Yarlagadda
Music Director: Bheems Ceciroleo
Cinematographer: Danush Bhaskar
Editor: Kodati Pavan Kalyan

Story:

Juliet, as well known as Saraswati (Mrunal Thakur), and Haridas, known as Hari (Adivi Sesh), are lovers who would like to stick by each other no matter what. But fate has other ideas for them. Saraswati marries someone else, and Hari ends up in jail. The core of Dacoit is how the two rejoin and develop to be substantial in each other’s lives.

Plus Points:

This thriller, in contrast to Adivi Sesh’s typical ones, doesn’t rely on a convoluted plot. In that regard, Dacoit is simple, but the screenplay intersperses captivating moments in both parts to keep the story interesting.

In the second half, there are two strong turns that will truly surprise you. They make the movie more powerful by showing up just when the plot appears to be going in a straightforward, predictable direction.

Well-thought-out action blocks with captivating chase scenes, positive emotions, and somewhat successful twists can be found in the second half. Goosebumps are produced by the title card sequence and the Kannepettaro song remix.

The majority of the film is carried by Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur. The majority of the story is driven by their chemistry, interactions, and deeds. Adivi Sesh exhibits observable

Minus Points:

There are twists in Dacoit for which Sesh is synonymous, but the kind of newness he brings to his films through stories is missing here. If you are looking for an out-of-the-box concept, then you might be a bit disappointed, as Dacoit is all about two estranged lovers who reunite to achieve a common goal.

There are certain slow moments here and there, which diminish the overall feel. The first half takes more time to establish the characters and the conflict point, and here the editing could have been better.

The special song featuring Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh and singer Jonita Gandhi was much-hyped, but it doesn’t land as effectively as the makers intended. The Rayalaseema slang by Sesh isn’t impressive and has scope for improvement. Certain dialogues were not conveyed properly.

Technical Aspects:

Songs by Bheems Ceciroleo are decent, complemented by an appealing background score from Gyaan, especially in the action parts. Cinematography by Danush Bhaskar stands out, particularly in chase and action sequences. Debut director Shaneil Deo, alongside Sesh, effectively crafted the screenplay, making the film engaging despite its conventional plot, although some scenes lack clarity and feel incomplete.

Verdict:

On the whole, Dacoit is a compelling romantic action drama that has a fair share of good moments. With their outstanding performances, Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur take the film to a whole new level. The story isn’t fresh, but the screenplay hooks us for the most part, and the twists work in the film’s favor. Dubbing issues occasionally diminish the overall impact, and there are occasional slow moments. Dacoit is a good choice if you’re looking for an intense action drama.
